Managed to drag my carcass up Carn an Tuirc in Glenshee. Unfortunately misty and windy conditions defeated me in my Ptarmigan hunt.
Highlight being 4 ring ouzel and this beautiful butterfly. Think it's a Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary but happy to be corrected.

Happy Winter Solstice to all in the northern hemisphere.

The turn of the year's tide, a pivot-point, a day of hope—when the dark stops rising & after which the Sun begins its slow climb back.
A day I celebrate more than Christmas or New Year.

Fiat lux!
