Loved being back in Jyväskylä for my first HITU conference, to present alongside our team members on the role of colonialism in the early modern Swedish discourse on improvement. Now off to the conference dinner !

Attending the Finnish history research conference (300+ historians!). Enjoyed the panel ‘New early modern historiographies’ with Kaarlo Havu on Marc Fumaroli’s history of rhetoric, Tupu Ylä-Anttila on queenship & Johannes Huhtinen on the puritan roots of Atlanticism.
