There is some degree of “artistic liberty” for medicine in fictional setting but when someone explicitly names a named drug/disease and is wrong about it, just kills the immersion for me and I can’t enjoy the work anymore lol

CoL has always increased with years and there’s never predicting what happens, and you wouldn’t expect a benevolent savior, so a person with a true survival mindset would absolutely prepare for the worst
