Mariah Isbell recently joined the Rose Library as the Visiting Archivist for the Jim Alexander photographs. 🥳 In this role, she will process the photos (including arrangement, description, & creating a finding aid) as well as provide support for their users. We're so happy to have her on our team!

Happy 250th birthday to the one and only Jane Austen! 🥳 Rose Library is fortunate enough to have first editions of all of Jane Austen's published works, as well as notable later editions. These original editions were published in 3 (or 4) volumes, called triple deckers.

Whether its at a community event or the mall - it's a tradition for many families to take photos with Santa each year! 🎅 While the practice began in mid 19th century, it became more popular in the 20th century as access to photography (and mall Santas) increased.

In 1987, Atlanta photographer Billy Howard began capturing images of people with HIV/AIDS. These striking portraits and accompanying handwritten notes were published in 1989 as "Epitaphs for the Living: Words and Images in the Time of AIDS". #WorldAIDSDay
