Part 7
(Sorry, I know I said I finished!)
I’n very happy to move away from a Meta platform!
I’ve no problem with their recent change to fact checking (I believe that truth is better left to the hive-mind rather than any single organization) but Meta has been a destructive influence on society imo.

Part 6
Sometimes you have to vote holding your nose. Here in Brazil there were two horrendous candidates last time around as well, and I can sympathize with voting against either 🤣 Hard to accept anyone who supports either, a very sorry state of affairs, but sometimes that is the choice. Finished!

Part 5
I can’t blame people for voting in their economic interests. My sister lives in New York, runs 2 bar/restaurants. She’s as liberal as can be, has demonstrated v Trump, but was terrified he would lose, to boil it down, because she was losing money selling French fries for $15.

Part 4.
Trump will be gone in 4 years, but I think people feared cancel culture and the anti-intellectualism and anti-free speech tendencies of Wokism. I’m married to a black immigrant, but I’ma white, western, cis male (I’m Irish, in Brazil) and sometimes presumed a bigot because of my appearance

Part 3
I would guess woke culture was the greatest reason behind the vote. Free speech is the key differential in democracy, and woke culture was threatening to erase that. I have no problem with any of the policies, I have personally voted in favour of abortion and divorce rights.

Part 2.
In a two party system, I can understand how people voted against the previous govt; personal economic conditions, woke culture, 2 sham candidates (implying govt by unelected behind the scenes people) and genocide in Gaza.

My unpopular opinion! 😂
I’m not comfortable with us deciding that we know better than the electorate of an advanced democracy. It feels quite arrogant. I get it, Trump, but it’s a flawed system, the unfortunate two-party choice. (I’m going to continue!)
