Oh man.
I just got back from running errands. First stop was my fave coffee shop for 1 lb of dark-roasted Bolivian Caranavi, freshly ground.
Every subsequent stop, I’d get back in the car and it smelled like pure heaven. Like St. Peter greeting me at the pearly gates with a fresh-brewed Caranavi.

I am truly at a loss.
What problem is being solved by intentionally blocking food aid to starving people in Gaza?

I appreciate the variety of features & perspectives provided by the NYT, but this was just like: what??

One person's "Ruben's brush strokes" and "infinite aesthetic array" is another person's epitome of grotesquely sad consumer capitalism. That "another" being me.

I really like BlueSky, and enjoy the other posts it features.

But, seriously, *how many times* do I have to flag “Show less like this” on Manga or Anime or whatever cartoons of scantily clad cat-women in weird universes before BlueSky’s algorithm figures out I don’t want these daily?

Who could have imagined letting a drug-addled billionaire with a chainsaw run amok in Washington might actually have consequences?

For some odd reason I feel like they are being honest here….
I hope the cost for what they are now is worth it for them. I guess it’s $ they covet.

Apparently, “ideological flexibility” is the new NYT euphemism for “blatant hypocrisy”.

Apparently “experience a major anomaly” is now the Musk-approved newspeak for “exploded into a massive, freaking fireball.”

I guess this all means that Trump will not be doing his car salesman shtick for Tesla vehicles on the White House lawn again, not any time soon.

From the Silver Lining Department:
With Trump’s new tariff hikes on aluminum and steel, there will now be more economic incentive for communities to aggressively collect and recycle aluminum and steel cans, right?

I am forever astonished by how half-assed my city is in terms of doing this.

Was shopping for salsa at my grocery store today, spotted a brand that looked good, but it wasn’t one I’d tried. Checking the label, I saw it was made in Texas.

My instinctive reaction: f*ck any state that put the Orange Felon in office. So I got the Ft Collins, CO salsa instead. It’s good.

I give up. Are Trump and his MAGA cult followers FOR or AGAINST electric vehicles, and the infrastructure to support them?

For Christssakes, I wish they’d make up their goddamn minds already.

I get a kick out of various random, average people freaking out right now because Donald Trump is doing … exactly what he and his Project 2025 buddies promised to do for months leading up to the 2024 election.

Go figure.

I just read that outgoing Interior Secretary Deb Haaland created six new national wildlife refuges during her tenure, and expanded five others.

I never heard this - and I used to work for US Fish & Wildlife Service! What else happened that we should have heard about?

I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. According to my outdoor thermometer, the temperature here this morning has already tripled, from 0.6 degrees Fahrenheit to 1.8.
