A roulette of hyper-fixations: writer, reader, artist, (mostly) retro gamer, vintage media enthusiast, amateur aquarist/herpetologist/horticulturist. A hobby collector of sorts.

I am a fan of #OldTimeRadio and frequently listen to Radio Classics on SiriusXM, or find CD collections in various places. So that being said, I am a fan of the idea of #TheArchers though I've never had an opportunity to start listening. What is amusing is that it's always trending for me on Bluesky

I feel like I always put emphasis on the 'classic' part of @criterion.bsky.social and because of that, it takes me off guard when I see films from my youth added to it. I had a similar feel with @tcmtv.bsky.social schedules in years past.

"Bluesky is boring."

Social media *should* be boring. Being algorithm and dopamine poisoned is bad, actually.

When your feed dries up for the day, that's your cue to go do something else until new stuff shows up later.

A small nod to #parkourcivilization in my forever world map. Such a weird idea for a video series when you first hear about it, but it was so engrossing! Probably would not have seen it, if not for @avidmc.bsky.social and the SBK season 1 folks!

But, what kind of cheese is it? Placed a hold on @scalzi.com 's new book and had to wait for my library system to get their copies in. But, now i get to read it.

Potentially 64 more days of hockey left this season. Crazy to consider how long the playoffs are for the NHL. Though I am not a particular fan, I hope the Jets get past the Presidents Trophy curse, that city deserves a cup win.

Getting back into an OTR CD collection I received for Christmas. First up is Abbott & Costello performing "Who's on First?" on the Andrews Sisters show. A half hour of close harmony singing with probably the best comedy sketch of the 20th century right in the middle.

Reading is reading to me, no matter what form it takes. It's just really weird that we draw a line in the sand as a species who spoke stories long before considering writing them down.

Decided to reacquaint myself with HTML and CSS after quite a long time of not needing it. I've used apps like Nice Page in recent years, but found myself downloading an app from Archive.org that I used to use in my teen years called Matrix Y2K. Thank you to, pt for archiving this back in 2004!

I discovered this documentary on Open Culture several years ago and it changed my perception of making time to read being a tough task. Very much a keep it simple mindset with 30 minutes a day equalling so much progress. I always loved to read, but this mindset has helped me to read more each year.

I joined Bluesky awhile ago and have struggled to figure out what exactly I want out of this site. This is all because of something Leo Laporte said on his podcast almost two decades ago about using each social media site differently, so you're not having identical conservations necessarily on each.
