I worked the HTML mines in the 90’s so I’ve seen some shit.

I develop .NET web apps for a living. Blazor, SSR, and HTMX are my current favourites.

He’s so for down the K-hole, I’m surprised he can see daylight.

Looks a bit like something exploded in the boot but the bodywork contained it.

Life imitating art:

“…the original German version is about a small issue turning into a major issue if it isn't dealt with quickly. This refers to a war starting over balloons being released into the sky.”

Dude really needs to watch “For All Mankind”.

I have discovered I can report the authors as AI and block them.

They may be legit, but authors signing up in the last 9 months pumping out an article every day since? I don’t think so.

The cost, the amount that leaves a dev’s bank account, is strangely never mentioned by all the AI proponents.

They are either not paying the bill themselves or they are hiding an unpalatable truth.

I signed up for a Medium account to read a bunch of articles on a given topic (@htmx.org) and I’m pretty sure the vast majority are AI output.

They all follow similar story arcs (“I replaced React with HTMX and everyone cheered”)

Super, super, disappointing.

“One Battle After Another” was a great watch.

The cold open is pretty full-on, even disorienting, but stick with it. The cat chase scenes in the desert are awesome.

Sean Penn’s character is just so loathsome and sad in equal measure.

Very contemporary with what is going on the USA right now.

Every time I read an opinion piece by convicted fraudster Damian Grant, I regret it e.g.

“Covid, like our first schoolyard crush, never happened. Move on.”

Great stuff, love read to real world stories of HTMX.

There is a small table formatting issue on the HTMX vs React bit.

I went to Kmart Petone today.

I will not be going back anytime soon.

Absolute chaos.

Yeah we kinda do “agile theatre” anyway so we’re a way away from best practice 😬

For years we’d been doing the complexity approach to points and it was always converted to time by mangwment at some point.

So, I convinced our team to just start estimating in time - .5, 1, 2, 3, 5 days etc.

It instantly removed ambiguity between the layers.

It instantly removed ambiguity.

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

I was largely unmoved by the F1 movie. Drive To Survive has more drama and intrigue. The movie just felt like Top Gun on wheels.
