These were our three dogs. Mickey crossed the rainbow bridge in 2012. Minnie crossed in 2016, and April crossed several months ago. I’m starting to feel ready to find another dog to bring into our home, but my wife is not quite there yet (but she’s getting closer). #Dogs #DogsofBluesky

Olaf seems to be pretty content after coming in from his fourth walk of the day! He’ll get one more in a few hours, before bed, but this last one seems to have conked him out.

It was cold enough this morning to try out one of Olaf’s new winter jackets. He actually liked the jacket, and we went out on a nice long walk! I was afraid he might not like the jacket after our Halloween costume failure, but he did great!

For Halloween, we were planning on dressing Olaf as… Olaf, from Frozen! But he looked so miserable when he tried on his costume that we took it right off and will not have him wear it again. He’ll just be himself for Halloween. 🎃 👻 ⛄️

Olaf had his grooming appointment this morning. The first picture was taken just before the grooming and the second picture was taken right afterwards. He‘s very cute and clean, and looks like he’s half the size he was earlier!

Olaf is scheduled for a grooming on Friday, and as you can see in this picture, Friday cannot come fast enough! He’s definitely looking a little scraggly. I’ll be sure to post before and after pictures once the grooming is done on Friday.

I’m taking a very brief break from my usual dog posts to post something a little different. A local farm had poblano peppers this week, so my wife and I decided to try this recipe for a Creamy Chicken Poblano soup tonight. It was outstanding! Link to the recipe:

Today marks Olaf’s six month adoption anniversary. I can’t believe he has now been with us for half a year! On top of being super adorable, he is just an unbelievably great dog. We are so lucky to have him!

Olaf is in what I like to call his “pre-game“ position, where he is half-on, half-off my lap. This is typically followed by his full lap curl, in which he climbs up on me completely, falls asleep and traps me in my seat for hours 🤣

This is a typical Saturday morning with Olaf. He climbs up onto my lap and then looks into my eyes for a minute or two before curling up on my lap. Usually for hours! My lap seems to be his favorite place in the world. But that’s ok, since he’s my favorite dog in the world 🥰

We have been working on concept training with Olaf over the past 6 weeks or so. His progress has been remarkable! He is no longer barking and lunging when he sees other dogs on a walk, and now he calmly looks up at us for a treat. His calmness and confidence keep growing!
