Local businesses keep Aurora moving.

Great to spend time with owners in the Havana Business District — including Nile Restaurant — and hear directly what support looks like on the ground. Showing up and listening matters.

Stopped by local businesses to spend time with owners and hear their perspectives on the DDA. Their insight is essential as we work to shape growth that’s thoughtful, inclusive, and community-driven.

Today was about listening and learning — welcoming a new restaurant owner, riding RTD along Colfax, and talking with a local business owner about what the DDA could mean for our community. Being present and accessible matters as we work together to shape Aurora’s future.

Grateful to Cross-Walk Ministries for serving Christmas meals at ARNC and for their ongoing service to our unhoused neighbors.

Glad to stand alongside Mayor Coffman to recognize the volunteers who served our community.

Spent time this season at a community food drive and at the MLK Library — reminders of how much impact local connection and care can have.

Aurora is strongest when we show up for one another.

Warm holiday wishes to all celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and the many other holidays observed this season.

May it be a time of joy, reflection, and togetherness. ✨

At our December 15 study session and council meeting, we discussed how tools like the East Colfax DDA can reinvest in safety, infrastructure, and local businesses—while keeping community priorities front and center. These choices shape how Aurora benefits from growth.

Earlier last week, I spent time with neighbors and first responders at a holiday gathering at Stanley Marketplace.

It was a good chance to connect outside City Hall, thank our firefighters, and spend time with people who show up for Aurora every day — on and off the job.

On Saturday, I joined a holiday toy giveaway in Ward 1 with community partners and neighbors.

Events like this show the best of Aurora coming together to support families and make sure no one is left out during the holidays.

Grateful for everyone who made it happen. 🎄✨

Earlier this week, I toured the Homeless Navigation Center and joined lunch for the Homeless initiative. Seeing the work happening on the ground reminds me why addressing homelessness is a top priority for our council.

I had the pleasure of attending the Aurora Highlands event at the Gaylord Rockies and a holiday gathering with County Commissioner @lesliesummey.bsky.social this week. Engaging directly with residents and local leaders helps us build a stronger, more connected Aurora.

Thank you so much for your support!
Small elections aren’t small when you flip a whole city council. Rob Andrews, Alli Jackson, and Gianina Horton all won in Aurora and helped turn the tide. Local power is real. 💥

Proud to share my latest Aurora Sentinel op-ed on what this next chapter can look like when we shape it together. Aurora is diverse and complex— we can’t move forward by staying in political corners. Real progress means reaching across our differences with intention and humility.
