And we would later get the version of Bluestreak that would make his name make some more sense. Diaclone's version of Bluestreak is a nice blue and silver. This is from the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line.

Earthrise Bluestreak rounds out the contours of Siege, leaning more towards the Nissan/Datsun look of old. One thing Bluestreak and Smokescreen have that Prowl did not was the shoulder guns..though Prowl did have the slots for them.

Needed a little sprucing up for his colors..so I sat him on top of the glowy energy middle of the Matrix. The transparent windows are a bit of a detriment to this version, as they can be seen right through the windshield and it leaves a big giant red thing down the middle. Blue does make his colors pop quite a bit

Siege Bluestreak is kinda like a black and silver bullet in vehicle mode. The slim contours carry through in robot mode, slimming down the chest. The red definitely stands out more in this figure.

There is definitely more here to see than on Siege Prowl..as the two tone paintjob allows you to diacern his shape more. We also don't have Prowl's transparent wheels here, giving Bluestreak the black tires and silver rims. Kinda wanted to give Bluestreak a more somber photo of him just walking through the frame. I imagine he has moments of contemplation here and there as he goes about the days of the war.

MP-18 Bluestreak was my second Masterpiece figure. Sideswipe was my first, and then I wanted to check off another item on my younger self's Christmas wishlist. Never got G1 Bluestreak, and the MP-18 doubles down on all that G1 goodness.

Not sure what was up with the lighting today, but it just transported me back to 1985 all of a sudden. Bluestreak was originally based on the diaclone figure, and originally, it came in different variants, such as the blue and silver and the black and silver, as well as the police car and the race car version that would later be known as Smokescreen. It was from the Blue and silver version that we would get the name Bluestreak, but we would wind up with the black and silver figure for G1. But, as we all know..to talk a bluestreak is to chat incessantly, and it is from that idiom that we would derive the explanation and Bluestreak's personality. He talks a lot to distract himself from the horrors of his past. Just because Bluestreak hates war does not mean he is not willing to fight in one in order to protect those he cares about. I liked the idea that he would pick up another gun and dual wield. Sets him apart a little from the other two.

Another Transformer I really wanted as a kid was Bluestreak. I do not know why.He hardly had any appearances in the G1 cartoon. I think I just liked his color scheme of the black and silver.
So, when we got the Universe line in 2008, he became my first Bluestreak.

Universe Bluestreak's paintjob was better applied than Prowl's..and it definitely pops. Still has that shine all these years later, thankfully. This one still remains one of my personal favorites from back in the day He stands a little better than Prowl does. The red is a nice accompaniment to the black and silver. Yes, this mold's proportions are a little bit weird, especially with the neck. He looks like he is wearing a turtleneck. But I still love him.

Finally, Earthrise Prowl. His alt mode hearkens back to the Nissan Fairlady mold of old. The downside to many of these figures was the exclusivity. This set was sold with Earthrise Ironhide and if you missed it, it was hard to find it again.

Transformers Prime Deluxe Prowl, a repaint and retool of Smokescreen..except I think the choice of car suits Smokescreen a little better. Probably my least favorite Prowl, if I had to rank them.

MP-17 Masterpiece Prowl.
This figure brings Prowl back to his roots, giving him back his Nissan Fairlady 280 Z-T alt mode.
I like the heft of this figure. The paint apps are nice, the white and black paint are crisp and the lines are clean.

Later in Transformers Animated, Prowl earns back what is rightfully his, becoming Samurai Prowl
Samurai Prowl was a cool updated version of the original Prowl figure, his motorcycle form getting a sidecar, and that, in turn, becomes armor and a sword.

Animated Prowl (c. 2009) was a bit of a departure from the police car robot formula, but a welcome one. A police motorcycle ninja was an interesting touch. And of course, it was nice seeing him and Jazz becone reacquainted.

2008's Universe Prowl. Since I never got a G1 Prowl, this was my first. As much as I love the design of this mold, there was one major problem. The white paint on the clear plastic of the doors smudged almost from Day 1..and it has given him a rather dingy look.

Could not talk about Hound without bringing up Detritus. Everyone wanted the earth mode Hound, but the first one to be released using that mold was Detritus instead.

Advertised to be a part of Buzzworthy Bumblebee, this version of Hound would see a release in the Legacy 5 pack. He will be getting a single release soon, and hopefully will be more readily available. He is a great figure, and his colors are bright.

He has been trimmed down from his mote bulky Cybertron mode, and he comes with his gun and missile launcher. I gave him labels from ToyHax to spruce him up a little. And here he stands, the original partner for Spike Witwicky before they decided Bumblebee was a better fit for him. I love his colors. I love this mold. I hope people will be able to find him when he is re-released

WfC Siege Hound. A very rugged figure. Aside from Bayverse and a Combiner Wars figure, Hound was absent for a while. Siege gave us what I assume was meant to be a Cybertronian version of him, and he looks great.

2008's Universe Hound was my first Hound, and he made quite the debut in this G1 inspired line.
He came with a new mold of Ravage, a nod to the one episode where they captured him.

A nice little Jeep mode. A great way to invoke the Jeep shape without infringing on any copyrights. You can store Ravage in his cassette mode on Hound's vehicle mode. Very nice. And we gots da Bots. He was a great addition to the G1 crew back in the day. The only drawback was the feet, which were overly large ahd made it difficult to pose him.

G1 Hound. This was not my first Hound, but this is where he started. A Mitsubishi Jeep J59, this version is the Walmart reissue repainted in G1 cartoon colors.

He comes with a gun you can mount in vehicle mode only, as well as a gas can and a spare tire. The gun and the tire can not be stored in bot mode...at least..not to my knowledge. Rear view of the Jeep, showing off cabin details and the tire.

Earthrise Sunstreaker and Legacy Sunstreaker. ER Sunstreaker suffered from having transparent windows when he did not need to..and so we have a two tone yellow that is really obvious. Legacy Sunstreaker fixes this problem, giving us a more cohesive paintjob.

Masterpiece MP-39 Sunstreaker from 2018. There were quite a few third party takes on Sunstreaker, but I held off until Takara released theirs, and I was not disappointed. The vehicle looks a lot like Sideswipe, but there is definitely a lot more packed into it.

Looks just like Sideswipe's Lamborghini mold, but he has some surprises.. Tucking in those intakes gives him a cleaner look if you wish. We got headlights that pop out, doors that swing open, and on the back, tail lights that can switch from G1 toy to vehicle accurate. Sunstreaker stands tall in robot mode, giving us a completely different bot mode than Sideswipe.

Universe Sunstreaker from 2008. This was my first Sunstreaker. They were very clever with this mold, being able to incorporate two different bots into the same mold.

15 years ago on this day, my wife and I started dating. Five years later, we would get married. Knowing her has helped give me direction and purpose to my life. She has helped me reach within myself and find a better man.
