The coalition agreement between National & Act states “Introduce a Treaty Principles Bill based on existing ACT policy and support it to a Select Committee as soon as practicable”. That has been delivered. Any further expenses associated with this Bill are a choice for National.

Revisions to the costings for the Treaty Principles Bill have calculated due to the record number of submissions provided to the Justice Select Committee. Originally we forecast that $4.1m would be needed - but that was before 343,000 physical and digital submissions. A 🧵

This is what National made them do under the Key government as well. Disaster. Max Key ended up with a nice heap property asset though.
