A moment of calm.

The world is spiraling. I worry for my students; I worry for all of the transgender people in my life.

I have to find the good to have the strength to support and carry on. A snow day helped. Good wine, cat laps, and a rewatch of Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga helps for today.

This week’s Funko haul.

It is cold today. We will get rain, but it will be a few degrees to warm for snow. It will be dreary and depressing. Luckily, my cats think it is the perfect time for cuddles.

Spent the day wine tasting with wonderful friends in Mason, TX —best known for Old Yeller. Went to a memorial for a friend and there were rainbows in the trails left by jets. A herd of deer ran by just before we left. It was about as beautiful as it gets.

Today is a wine day. We buy local. Started at a group gathering where the Montepulciano and Tannat blend was amazing. Headed down the road to try their carbonic Beaujolais Nuoveau style Temp. Super lovely.

Grading papers today about college student’s use of AI. One student said sources from 2006 and 1918 had data on student usage. Used two sources from the last four years too, but the info cited was not in the sources.

So, I hope the student learns about AI hallucinations.

Talking about 2025. Feel my job “might” be safe as a professor at a state school because I am preparing to teach classes about using AI ethical and game design (our newest major). First is a private con, then it is our city con—Alamo City Game Convention. It is run by good people. 1/?.

Gotta try to post here. I stopped awhile ago due to the flood of video game posts. I play a little, but with every 4 out of 5 posts on video games, it was too much. My feed seems to have gotten better.

Enjoyed our normal X-Mas Eve:a night downtown started with wine with our lovely friends at ReRooted 210, then dinner and downtown/Riverwalk lights.

Last push to get the word out! In three days we start our epic marathon! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
