Beautiful, detailed history of the activism of Rosa Parks. The myth tries to tell us that when someone says no, justice just happens. The truth is that the “no” has to come again and again, in the face of risk, with no assurance it will prevail over the evil it opposes.
Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.

Dept. of Ed is reclassifying all the female dominated professions (nurse, therapist, speech pathologist, PA) as not having “professional” degrees, which makes it harder for them to get educational loans.

I'm thinking today of all my fellow veterans but especially the more than 5,000 trans service members and their families who were kicked out of the military this year despite being highly qualified and serving honorably. This injustice will be a stain on our nation's history.
