This isn’t about immigration. It’s about trashing the constitutional separation of powers to remove any and all barriers to the exercise of power and stifle dissent. First they came for the immigrants…

In 2021, McConnell successfully filibustered a Democratic CR ahead of a government shutdown and forced them to accept a clean one instead. What happened this week - a total cave on a totally partisan long-term funding bill - hasn’t happened in the 20 years I’ve covered Congress.

Is it alarmist to say this is a test of martial law?

Sen. Jeff Merkley said Schumer’s reversal made his own opposition even more of a “hell no.”

“You don’t stop a bully by handing over your lunch money,” Merkley told CNN. “That’s exactly what this House spending bill does.”

DOGE is not about efficiency or reducing spending. It’s about removing barriers to crony capitalism.

Chuck Schumer = Neville Chamberlin. You cant bargain with a bully. You will lose every time. Heck even Iran’s leader knows this. Replace Schumer now.

1. Impoundment is illegal

2. Why would Dems approve funding legislation that Trump can unilaterally veto? What's the point of having a Congress at all if the president controls the purse strings?

Sure. Who needs lumber. Let’s build houses out of straw.

I don’t agree that vaccination is a personal choice. Yes it’s an individual action but refusing vaccines puts everyone else at risk not just you. If you were to sh*t in a bucket and toss it in the gutter that is also an individual action that has consequences for those around you.

I called my US senators. The junior senator’s mailbox is full! Damn. Guess I’m not the only one p*ssed off.

Towards the end the host reads a letter from Ithaca that could be from any of us. We are incensed and reps seem “concerned.” Somebody slap somebody. Get mad! Go all in Rep Al Green! Commit to the inside line and overtake!

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

No one seems to have what it takes smh. Where’s the Mitch McConnell of the left? Where’s the modern Tip O’Neal? Or is parliamentary procedure impotent in this Congress?

I’m not necessarily defending Columbia (please accept my kid) but this is not a path towards changing the climate on campus. Columbia can do more but kneecapping them under this pretense is absurd

Do you ever absentmindedly eat that last morsel on the plate and wonder, “wait, was that the bit that fell on the floor?”
March 7, 2025 at 9:20 PM
Dems need to clearly define the primary problem and the corresponding primary remedy. The policy buffet that is the Democratic Party is incoherent and unfocused
March 7, 2025 at 9:17 PM
And can I trust you not to do something completely insane like that again? (The answer is no.)

I’m still blown away how cunning POTUS47 is but also how also an idiot. Jobs in Windsor mean money spent in Detroit. Jobs in Ciudad Juarez mean money spent in El Paso. We are intimately connected and breaking those ties only does harm. It does no good. None. Never.

Wait. Aren’t adjustments a bad thing? Like that’s when the markets are like “oh f*ck me” cuz sh*t is going sideways? It’s Iike being fed bad meat, getting diarrhea, and the host calling it “an adjustment.” Yeah no.
