Updates from this morning’s testimony from the redistricting hearing. So far we heard the expert for the plaintiffs challenging the maps saying more than 99% of randomly generated maps create one Dem district, indicating the Lege map, with 4 R seats, is an outlier.

Last night, Sen. Daniel Thatcher — who clashed with Republican leadership before leaving the party — announced he would be leaving the senate.

He won’t make it official until he’s sure the Utah Forward Party will get to pick his replacement.

BREAKING: Labor groups met the requirements to qualify a referendum for the ballot repealing HB267, which bans collective bargaining for police, fire and teachers unions.

As of this morning, they had more than 148l verified signatures and met the targets in 15 senate districts.
