Something for #PortfolioDay... I mostly do space #SciArt. Here is my digital drawing of the Rosette Nebula, a large star-forming region which is about 5000 light-years away. 🔭
Work in progress. Few sessions done, more sessions to go. Painting of the Butterfly Nebula, a bipolar planetary nebula, acrylic on canvas 30x40cm

Tomorrow Mercury becomes closest planet to Earth and remains closest until 31st July 2026. I drawn Solar System bodies in Procreate. Distances can be explored in my Streamlit App: solar-system-distances.streamlit.app ps. there will be days in 2027 when Mars is the closest planet to Earth #SciArt 🧪 🔭

Painted another sunrise at Denhams beach, NSW, Australia; but this time watercolor on paper. Enjoyed playing with this one, and still need to practice mixing yellow and blue to avoid green sky 😀

Each day during March I spent about 15min to paint a sunset. All done with #watercolor: first half of the month I used brush&paper, which I haven't used since high-school. Second half of the month I used digital brushes and #Procreate. Here are top 4 digital that I like the most. #blueskyart #art

Playing with data: Renzogram of atomic hydrogen (HI) in galaxy NGC 4424 (contours) overlaid on SDSS color composite image. HI is moving: blue parts towards us, red away from us. HI tail probably makes it a Jellyfish type of galaxy. #radioastronomy #SciArt #science #python Refereces in Alt text.

Initial release of my "Color Extractor" #Streamlit app, was February 27th 2022.
- The apps logo and colormap example were clearly set in support of Ukraine.
- App allows you to create and extract individual swatches and then use them in #Procreate

It's been a year since SciStreams had a trial run. SciStreams was my attempt to expand my hobbies in which I would make a random science Streamlit App. Three #Streamlit apps were published and then the project went into a slumber. Perhaps there is interest to wake it up #Astronomy #Science Examples👇
