The correct pronunciation of the car brand, “Jeep” is “Yeep”. Not many people seem to know that.

Spring daylight saving last night. Nature is amazing. Can anyone explain this? How did my chickens know how to take advantage of it by staying out in the yard until 7 pm instead of their usual 6 pm?

I support trickle-up economics where people doing important work to keep society supplied and running are well remunerated in the hope that a little of their wealth will trickle up to provide managers, politicians, lawyers, investors, speculators etc with the basic necessities of life.

I would urge Liberals thinking of replacing Sussan Ley as Opposition Leader not to be too hasty.

America is considering retaliation for Australia’s recognition of Palestine.
Please, please, President Trump, hit us with tariffs, bomb us, whatever you want, but please, please, whatever you do, don’t kick us out of AUKUS and please, please don’t close down Pine Gap.

What a wonderful memorial it would be to Charlie Kirk to name the new Whitehouse Ballroom in his honour.
…I’m sure Trump would be all in with that.

From Blazing Saddles. Reminds me of a certain current President of a large English speaking North American country.

Just heard that Mixue Bingcheng has more outlets than McDonald’s. I looked at their menu and it makes McDonald’s look like health food. I can say that Chinese civilisation is now on a steep decline.

Penny Wong, is it too hard to say that assassinating the leader of Iran is wrong? “I’m not going to get into that” is just not good enough. Who is going to be the adult in the room while Netanyahu murders children in Gaza and with Trump tries to drag the west into an illegal war against Iran?

Lessons Liberal National parties have learnt from the election:
Zero.
Matt (my brother owned a coal mine) Canavan: coal is the cheapest form of energy.
Note: it’s not. Obviously existing power station is cheaper than a new one. Existing coal is far costlier than existing wind, solar (and nuclear).

Until Labor takes a clear stand against the genocide in Gaza, it is hard to fully celebrate the Labor election victory.

If the substantial independent and maybe Green representation in the new Parliament in Australia has any weight, hopefully they can get an independent investigation into AUKUS and maybe detach us from that awful deal.

X and Threads are almost equally bad as bot-ridden disinformation right wing cess-pits. Aussie election suggests social media may not have much effect on elections in Australia. Good to see.

The war on Gaza is a genocide.
Australia, Europe and America should stop pretending it isn't happening, and should call it out for exactly what it is.
