I have begun making mince pie surprise! I think some of them not even having mincemeat in them may turn out to be quite the surprise… anyway photographed them so I know what’s what after cooking.

Did a thing with the thing I bought to do a thing with… would have been easier with friggin laser beams but I’m not sure that would be safe in a loft environment.

Tonight’s movie… one that had bad reviews, universally panned, yet based on a great gaming franchise. Borderlands couldn’t be that bad could it? It kind of is. The acting is fine, although Jack Black isn’t remotely as good as the video game voice actor. Have to lay blame… https://mastodon.art/@Robe…

Finally got a visit from one of my good friends who still hadn’t been to my house because casual invites with no specific dates never happen. We played two fun games, which is funny because she brought them both around and I have shelves and shelves full of games here! 🤣… https://mastodon.art/@Robe…

Got out the trusty Prusa Mini from its enclosure to do some maintenance and try to work out why it printed circular wheels oval shaped. Also replacing this part as it’s cracked and may be causing other issues. #3DPrinting

E-bikes are so… much… fun. Although it took me 15 minutes to take my helmet off after because my hands were too cold to unclip the buckle 😂

Tonight’s Xmas movie… The Long Kiss Goodnight. Kind of fun if somewhat sexist whilst trying so hard to be post modern but directed by someone who has no idea what that means and using a script written by teenagers.

I’m up for #Parkrun again, for hopefully the second time of four times between now and next Sunday. Also I’ve just noticed the great 5K mobile app is an official Parkrun app now!

Sitting in the ferry car park, after having been moved to the 2pm due to “wind”, listening to Christmas classics to get myself into the seasonal mood on the drive back to my parents.

Went for an eMTB ride today, very very muddy, but half of it fell off before I got back and took this picture. Super fun though, the danger of slipping and sliding but with none of the consequence because the worst case is slowly falling into a mud pool.

Done! Journey was super easy, everything went according to plan. Run was fine, six years in the making, about 2:06 in the end. Start was very confusing, 1k before the chip time and then 1km short. 🫤

This is early! Even for a day that’s not a Sunday. I am up for the Portsmouth Half Marathon that I’ve been entered for since 2019 (it was the full then, and again in 2020, until I moved it to the shorter run) and deferred every year since for injury reasons. This is the year!!!

Interesting in Boots earlier, gammon man walks in and looks at the 8 people long queue, mutters, “bloody ridiculous” and wanders out. Shortly after, woman of maybe a similar age with a shopping bag wheelie thing, sees same queue and says, “oh gosh, that’s a long queue, let’s come back later”
