Rep. Stansbury is spot on. The refusal of MAGA pawns in Congress to work to pass a budget is shameful and hurts all Americans. They need to do their jobs and stop lying. We know better, and so should they.
To everyone who showed up all across the country for our democracy this weekend—THANK YOU!

We know you’re not buying the lies, lawlessness, and dismantling of our democracy. Keep showing up!

Militarizing our cities is not the way that we create safety. We create safety by funding SNAP and Head Start, and building opportunities and mechanisms for success -- not pouring funds into militarizing the National Guard on our streets.

Sustaining democracy in Kansas and beyond requires dialogue kansasreflector.com/2025/08/28/s...
I am glad that groups like Leading Kansans have sprung up to listen to the concerns and of local voters. Florida Rep. Maxwell was there. He is a leader in restoring democracy in our country.

Even with 1,500 of their own constituents gathered in one place, demanding answers, our Kansas federal delegation has yet to respond.

No amount of education can help Trump, but learning critical thinking skills now may prevent future dictators and imbeciles. Support public schools!

Hitler’s Germany created the Brown Shirts to intimidate workers, farmers, Jews, union members. In Italy, it was the Black Shirts. All to install fascism and displace democracy. Trump’s ICE, these masked, jack booted thugs, are another tool of suppression to use against working people.
"We’re creating something even more dangerous to the country: A masked monster of a law enforcement agency, one uniquely unsuited for its new power, authority, reach, and funding levels."
Spending $200 billion on ICE is a terrible idea
I've covered federal law enforcement for two decades. Here are the things that worry me most.

To everyone who participated in the historic No Kings rallies: Congratulations! We are showing Trump and his allies that we LOVE OUR COUNTRY and WILL FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY!! We must continue showing up and demanding RESPECT for all people who live in this great country. Stand Up, Speak Out!!
No Kings Day was one of the largest days of protest in US history. From deep red small towns to our largest cities, millions of people turned out to make it clear that the American people will not bow to fascism. #NoKings

Thank you to all those who served, to those families who lost loved ones in service to democracy, and to those who continue to serve with integrity. And thank you, France, for remembering our fallen and honoring them.
Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.

They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.

France also gave us this land as American soil.

Well yeah, isn't that the point of this kleptocratic government?
National missile defense is the longest-running scam in the history of the Department of Defense. Musk didn’t invent it, but he’s about to get a whole lot richer by perpetuating it.

Trump’s “Golden Dome” Won’t Work—but It’ll Make Elon Musk Richer
For 40 years, missile defense has never been about keeping America safe. It’s all about the contracts.

Hey Florida - when your roof blows off or your house floods and no one warned you or comes to help you recover, remember that you voted for this disgrace of a president and enabled, through your silence, Trump's and Musk's destruction of critical government services.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s DOGE-bros have decimated our nation’s weather warning system and are putting lives at risk. It’s irresponsible, and it will cause devastation. We need to elect a Democratic Congress and stop them. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Trump should not be allowed to be near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier or any other military cemetery. Every self-glorifying word he utters is a disgrace to members of our armed forces. Let's be clear - for Trump, every soldier and citizen in America is expendable if it makes him a buck.
"Trump cares not one wit about those who, unlike him, risked their lives. Quite the opposite: he has made life notably challenging for vets."

Jen Rubin writes about how America owes its vets much more.

I believe AI has great potential to improve our lives, but it cannot be at the cost of human labor, genius, creativity, heart, and sacrifice. I agree - theft is theft. Rein it in or shut it down.
Ok.

Then let it die.

Because theft is theft.

And even worse if you’re profiting from the crime.

It is no surprise to anyone on Bluesky, but Trump is absolutely the most corrupt political leader the US has ever seen! The Trump Criminal Family is scamming Americans and foreigners alike. They do not discriminate when it comes to suckers - they'll take anyone's money and smile, smile, smile.
Trump is refusing to release the guest list of his pay-to-pay crypto dinner, as his press secretary Karoline Leavitt argues that the dinner is in his “personal time."

Personal time that brought in $147,586,796.41.
