So with the mtg set Lorwyn Eclipsed's pre release being tomorrow, I'd like to share something I do for prereleases that I quite enjoy. I like to make flavored versions of the tokens out of games I enjoy, usually older sprite based affairs. For instance this was the set for Duskmourn house of horror.
So these Duskmourn tokens were based on the Famicon horror game: Sweet Home. I was lucky enough to play a translated version. I utilized the games title screen as the backs of the tokens! Frescoes are a common theme in the game as you solve the deaths of painters family as a team of investigators. Making the beautiful works of spriting the treasure was a no brainer! Manifest dread was one of the sets cornerstone mechanics and to represent these face down carda I took advantage of the games one Jumpscare where a man turns revealing a half skeletal face! I enjoyed playing around with the various borders of the tokens with the different colors and creature types in the set, this mist styled background accompanying enchantment creatures!

It's march 2020, Im sitting at this call center job I've despised for at least 5 years and im miserable, So started drawing, i had quit many years ago. Had a duck on my desk, so I sketched it. Then... I had a thought... As I finished, felt like a revelation on what I could do. The tiniest revelation
Though in terms of serious critiquing its more than flawed, and not even really my best work. But there's something about this duck. It may have single handedly brought me back to serious art practice after 8 or so years of abandoment. It was my revelation, the tiniest revelation. So if you're reading this: you dont have to follow me. Just take this with you: Don't quit, and if you have, dont hesitate to return with a new frame of mind. The smallest things can give you a brand new perspective on your craft. Even the smallest can inspire the mightiest. Also yea absolutely "left" that job like a month later, they found a way to force resignation when I was unable to work from home. While things are still rough and we're hanging by fingertips, im better than I ever was at that call center. Thanks and Goodluck friend! -Wayward

In reflecting upon the past year, I found myself coming back and thinking about a handful of pieces I had done some time ago. I havent really shared them online so I think it's a good time to!
I was delving into become more accustomed to the concept of light value in extremity and really liked the stark look of older black and white comics. This particular piece was made for a MTG proxy for "Trap Digger" and is indeed about such individual! This particular one im quite proud of, as I feel that I grasped negative space and direction well here. This was also an mtg proxy for a favorite card of mine "Hold the line" I wanted a more western themed version to go along with my deserts deck. (Hazezon, for the curious!)

Happy 2025 all! Lots of misfortune befell me and my family, however so far we've bounced back each time! Wouldn't be here without my dearest friends whom are real family to me! Didn't do as much art as I wanted but I did experiment more. Here were some of my favs! To 2026! May we all create more!
Experimenting with more shadowed environments and leaning on highlighted areas and dense shadows along with some more "palleted" colors as old computer graphics was a rabbit hole i dug down for awhile! Still happy with this one, though im certain I can do it better! My fav work of mine this year, fixed some of the issues of the first one I like alot of the artifacting in the image and I feel i better achieved the dated graphic look!

Since im new to the platform, figured I'd upload some older stuff while I find the strength to work on more! So heres a piece I did as proxy art for the MTG card "Scheming Symmetry" based on the Ice Age blocks major antagonists, Lim dul the Necromancer (top), and Marit Lage or "The thing in the Ice"
The time of ice was a age of ambition and schemes. Below the ice, a forgotten God dreamt of shattering her prison. Above the ice, a man uncontent to warm himself by the fire sought to become the flame.
