slowly but surely plonking along at making my game. Got a bit done of basically all the major systems, including combat. I might actually have something to show in a month or so lol

fuccckk yeah I've got so much done over the last few days. Dialogue system, dialogue code parser, camera system that can swap to different characters on the fly, a barebones debug system, menu system, party system, etc!

Not all complete, but even having at least 50% of each system done feels great

After a week of bumbling through programming I finally have a working dialogue system with a parser that can apply a bunch of text effects right from the dialogue file, along with assign portraits and text blips and junk!

now that deltarune chapters 3-4 are nearly out, I've been rereading the original novels. they're surprisingly close to the games, here's Noelle from book 2

the absolute worst feeling when programming is when you do everything like you're supposed to but it STILL wont work and then you spend like an hour fixing it and it turns out you forgot to like, write an i into a word or smth and didn't notice until an hour later in troubleshooting
