Interesting that the "defences" of this from the AIshills are either "it can't take your stuff" (untrue) or "it can but if there's only one instance it's probably not enough to impact the output" (potentially untrue for very specialised queries).

Apparently all the PhD researchers holding prestigious NSF-funded research fellowships are having their salaries withheld until some unspecified time when the leadership figures out how to eliminate any grant funding that doesn’t align with the president’s political ideology.
It’s official: all funding requests made on Tuesday by postdocs for their salaries have been unilaterally rejected by NSF.

After 15 years in the US, I'm now a citizen! Had to queue outside in the snow for 30 minutes and my husband was sat near someone who was making stinky farts during the ceremony, but it was worth it!
