As I said at the end of my speech after accepting the Gerry Gall Human Rights award on Thursday: “Human rights are not given once and for all—they must be claimed, they must be defended, and they must be renewed in every generation. That is our collective responsibility.”
I realize that we are only in this planet for a relatively short period of time, so whatever we can do to make the world a better place we should strive to do. That explains in a nutshell my commitment to human rights.

Was there really a ceasefire between IRAN & Israel, or did Trump simply declare one? This triumphalism reminds me of George Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” after the U.S. bombed Iraq. We all know what happened after that announcement. Trump needs a filter between his brain and his mouth.
