I randomly ended up watching some old episodes of Maid Marian the other day. A golden era of television the like of which we shall not see again.

Roles which would have paid them. If there was a "climate army" paying even minimum wage I bet you'd have a huge number of takers. As there's not, why snipe at how people earn a living, and at the things they love, when it's perfectly possible for them to do both?

You wouldn't have to look far to find many, many literature academics engaging with the climate crisis. Literature is a really strange thing to come for in this context. The cashier and the social worker don't work with climate either, does that mean they don't care? False dichotomy.

Art is not just entertaining stories. Trivialising it doesn't help the planet. Art and literature can foster a love of the planet, though I feel no obligation to defend them solely on that basis or any other moral basis.
