I'm Steve Dillon (and my wife Tracy) run a small farm in SW Florida. Raising Organic Vegatables and Herb Seedings and plan on starting a CSA in the area. We raise sheep for Wool and breeding stock.
I was quite excited when Tidal music service said there was a new Sisters of Mercy album. They have a very new, monkish vibe to their new work

Happy Monday. Getting up an hour early real easy today. The sun forgot about the time change and is coming up an hour early.

@kagi.com Have you ever considered putting your engine to work to make custom Bluesky feeds. It would be nice if making a feed was as simple as a few search terms, or accounts. Maybe with a feedback loop of likes generated by the feed.

Raising sheep is complicated by parasites that live in the gut and consume blood or nutrients there. In the USA there is not enough sheep farms to create enough demand for new medicines. Genetic selection of breeds resistant to parasites is key. Both our breeds are resistant.
Sheep farms face rising worm-control failure. Discover why faecal egg counts and strategic dosing are key to keeping wormers working.
Rising wormer resistance urges sheep farmers to rethink worming plans

So to my surprise, the Biden infrastructure act, is going to bring real wired internet to my house. I'm 7 miles outside a town of 13,000.
The downside is that it will be Xfinity (but better than Century Link).
I have a GREAT ISP that answers calls on the 2nd ring, but it's microwave and 30mbs. hmm.

Which of these is not like the others? They are out on nice pasture all day long, but they really like their hay when. We bring them in at night.

Our Gulf Coast Natives have some of the same identifiers. A black dot here or there, golden or white face. I guess I should make some introductory videos.
Can you tell our white ewes apart? 🐏 🐑🐑🐑🐑

Gulf Coast sheep fit their challenging environment so well that for centuries, they were the only sheep to be found in the deep South, providing wool and meat for home production.... (see alt text for complete info) www.livestockconservancy.org/join

Just a minute of relaxation as the May lambs enjoy a cool evening. They were just so happy that spontaneous jumping just happened.

So having some fun with the phone. Slow motion sheep sprint. Delilah takes the win as usual, she aggressively stakes out her starting position to be first off the line and then uses her 360 spinning propeller tail for extra speed. #SmallFarmLife #SkySheep

Running of the sheep. We have them in a far pasture and oddly they know how to get to the barn. But then get suspicious and need to verify no lions are in the barn before going in. Oh and lamb pixel waiting for slow mom Maria before going in.

This mornings sunrise nd a couple pics of ram lamb Orlando who may be on his way to a new pasture in Gainesville.

So our 'million' dollar ram, Jolly is back in action. After 4 trips to the vet and 3 sets of xrays, the splinting worked great, the vet is very happy, said the 'callouses' grew alongside the bone as hoped. He is split free this morning, and in a week will be out in the pasture.

Happy Sunrise Equinox, ok it was yesterday but I didn’t get a good sunrise picture. Currently the sun rises due East from our house over a huge live oak at the edge of the property. We are finally getting some cool weather 71f/22c this morning, going to 88f/31c.

Some happy sheep, we gave them a section of paddock with tons of Spanish needle and dog fennel.
