Interesting how language goes through semantic shift both fast and slow. For research I speak with a lot of people and notice they keep using words associated with obsolete technology or objects (vestigial terms?) Even young people who don’t have the reference keep saying “taping” or “filming”

Players are roleplaying in Fortnite to teach each other their rights when encountering ICE officials

“I would slip [the warrant] under the door, but there’s no space under the door,” the agent says.

The civilian pauses. “Well. Sounds like a personal problem.”

Stop the lies! Journalists are just as much to blame as politicians for all the lies being perpetuated. And I don’t know if it is just ignorance or willful ignorance on their part. Either way, it’s exhausting.

Thèse are interesting findings. The question is, however, would employers consider these wellbeing benefits to the workers, as their own priorities?

Don’t dictators just ever get tired? Even at the stage of narcissism combined with hubris syndrome, they seem to have this limitless energy and relentlessness. Meanwhile, the rest of us are utterly exhausted.

Being in Europe right now, it’s noticeable how little (none) discussion is happening about Eurovision in my North American social circles.

Nowadays it’s so easy for a politician. Just for speaking in complete sentences they can get a standing ovation.

Also, you have nothing to hide, until you do. It’s not always up to you.
"nothing to hide" was weaponized to make you give up your privacy. remember that. you have everything to hide. it is yours. no one has the right to it. we've given up the rights to our own faces, fingerprints, and our lives.
