I do feel guilty that a lot of NLP/MT researchers are following me here.
this account is 95% personal and rarely I tweet about my work on quality assurance of AI.
in fact, most of my work is focused on teaching computer scientists on how to do QA of MT (human evaluation, ethics, sustainability)

usually the biggest problem is leveraging large language models for everything and every kind of task
like we already know there’s no point in wasting resources and energy in tasks that make no sense (like creative or every day tasks)
but even for more critical tasks, you want other types of AI

honestly i’m so over those AI companies making claims their AI systems did something sneaky or intelligent when clearly they set up the conditions and just exaggerated the results for hyperbolic claims
i have a phd in ai and i can confidently say
