A weekly podcast from two Scottish-Italian cousins who support Fiorentina and Venezia, taking an irreverent look at Italian football - and aiming some potshots at the traditional giants along the way!

That result is one of the biggest embarrassments I can remember in 4 decades of supporting Italy. Gattuso is shit, but truth is we don't have enough good players, and that's down to years of neglect from the FIGC. I'd prefer us not to win the playoffs and see a proper revolution at the top

This week we discuss the return of Vanoli - not to Venezia, but to the Viola! But no victory for them - yet. Meanwhile, Inter and Roma go top, while Conte's second season strife hits full stride. Plus, Venezia do win!

Listen to me wallow in self pity
It's pretty much just a Viola misery show this week as @ginkers.bsky.social tries to turn every story into one involving Fiorentina's worst start to a season in history...

(We do try and talk about other stuff as well 😂)

Late goals deliver different fortunes for Fiorentina and Venezia, while the Serie A race hots up. Plus VAR chat (of course) and a hot off the press sacking at Juve...

Viola rage at VAR! Como are good (funny what money can do!) Inter growing stronger. And Venezia dominate but could a weak attack be their undoing? All this and more on this week's pod!

Glad to see that some of the nonsense written about Como is finally falling away. There is no miracle - they just have the richest owners in the league.

(Which, fair play - but it's the acting like they're a small club on a miracle run that grates)

On this week's episode we are celebrating that rarest of things - a correct prediction from Rigore! Plus - a grumpy @ginkers.bsky.social after yet another sub-par Fiorentina performance and a slightly happier @marcorinaldi.bsky.social as Venezia beat Spezia.

A fun episode this week (and I apologise to any Milan fans for my prediction)
Red cards, VAR mistakes, Fiorentina and Venezia lose, ill-informed predictions - what more could a Rigore listener want?

All that and more in today's episode: linktr.ee/rigore

A Derby d'Italia to remember, Allegri's first red card of the season, and a Venezia side who seem to have a worrying habit of taking their foot off the gas. Plus Rino makes Italy into the very essence of his famous "sometimes good, sometimes shit" quote.

New episode out as we look at Cremonese's fine start, wonder about Inter's title credentials, bemoan a lack of goals for Fiorentina and Venezia, and discuss Gattuso's first Italy squad (Marco manages a rant even while being barely able to talk)

We're back! Looking at a decent start for 2 of the 3 promoted teams (and Milan's struggles continuing), Fiorentina being denied victory at the last minute, and a decent start for Venezia (Daniel Fila is still crap though)

A public service announcement for any @rigorepod.bsky.social fans out there. We are shifting recording to Mondays so you can get your fix of glum and glummer a wee bit later in the week. It will be no better informed or thought out despite taking more time, we promise.

Just waking up to say we will of course be back with our first episode of the new season this week!

But - a new recording schedule - we will be recording on Mondays so new episodes will be out on Tuesdays this season.

Look out for our first dose of misery this Tuesday!

That's a wrap! We review the last day of the Serie A season, with Napoli champions, Fiorentina sneaking into Europe - and Venezia relegated despite another spirited (if flawed) display. We discuss all that and more in the final episode of the season!

And those who listen to the pod sometimes wonder why we enjoy the occasional dig at the Prem teams in return...

(Mature and balanced? Not us... More like old and bitter 😂)
Looking at the reports of the match last night in the UK papers, I must have missed the part where Barcelona won 8-0...🙄

The fawning coverage of certain teams (while falling back on lazy stereotypes re Italian teams) in the British media is bizarre.
