Love theme parks (100+), roller coasters (635+), haunts, horror, unique SoCal events/places/eats, and occasional culture. Mostly LA, but also travels.

Home parks: USH, SFMM, KBF, and (not as much) Disney. No media affiliation, just passionate about things
Visited the Sherman Brothers tribute in the Main Street Cinema. A lovely compilation of people all over the world and different time periods singing the song, highlighting a new verse they created in 2023.

Some artwork from the Disney Gallery, or whatever it is they call that store next to the Opera House

We’ve been in three different lines (Pirates, Matterhorn, BTMRR) when the rise shut down and they forced emptied the queue. I’d estimate a good 90 min of our day have been wasted standing in lines for closed rides. 😖

Disney app: Runaway Railway is only 20 min!

*walk 10 min to get to Runaway Railway*

SURPRISE! It’s 70 min

This is the kind of day we’ve been having, not to mention mobbed in rain

Tried the holiday eclair. Super cute, tasted only okay. Not nearly as sweet as it looks

Line for Racers SR is basically to the entrance sign. By standby is 150, so still likely worth it by comparison
January 3, 2026 at 8:14 PM
This is the line for Monsters buddy pass. The standby is now 45 min, but listed as 80 earlier!

It’s very weird to park hop… we have not bought a park hopper ticket in maybe 2-3 years or more

Okay, some cute merch. I had to get the plate ($40) and the Mr. Toad shirt
January 3, 2026 at 7:14 PM
Rope drop Alice, Toad, and Mansion. Tried Pirates, but they closed it

It’s been 18 months since I’ve been to Disney, and they still have these hideous green traffic dividers and hand search for bags. Such a terrible first impression. This is partially why I don’t come back more often.

We're gonna wring every bit of joy we can out of 2026, despite the obvious struggles that await us. We are not to be fucked with, 2026.

Heading to Disneyland/DCA tomorrow for our first visit in over 18 months. Of course, it'll be raining for a large portion of the day, so that'll be fun.

Love this. When we visited London last summer, we no longer needed the Oyster card... we just tapped with our credit card for all Underground and Bus transport, and it was so much easier (we don't have foreign transaction fees on our cards)
TAPing with credit cards is coming to LA Metro this spring!

And you can pay for up to four additional riders! No more having to buy individual TAP cards for every friend/family member/child you are traveling with!

Perhaps because of the rain earlier today, they opened up the ballroom for dining.

Did Avery brief visit to Knott’s Berry Farm to see how our Six Flags Diamond Elite VIP membership would fare here. No problems with entering the park or preferred parking.

Instead of one FOL pass, we were given two. A nice perk, but Six Flags parks were 4. We’ll see if SF rescues us to 2.

“Days” at the Knott’s Berry Farm Marketplace is closed today. Pretty sure it’ll be closed tomorrow, too

The merch for Horror Unleashed all have these great tags. It’s a nice detail!
December 31, 2025 at 4:55 PM
One more from Horror Unleashed... a pre-show scene for Scarecrow. It's just fog, wind and narration, but having a wind effect blow through the cornstalks (remember, this is indoors) is simple yet effective creepiness!

Screamscape turns 27 today. It’s kind of crazy to think about how much of my life has been spent writing about a subject that I knew that I loved, but at the time I had no idea how many other people were also as obsessed with theme parks as I was.
