Remember when the Sox released Matt Dermody after it came to light that he was saying some super problematic stuff? Guess those days are gone for this organization

My unasked-for opinion on the Juan Soto rumors: I don’t think that Mick guy is lying, but I think his “sources” are probably full of shit. Even if there’s a very mutual interest between the Sox and Soto, I doubt Boras would let him end the sweepstakes without his contract value getting absurdly high

Not believing any Soto rumors until Passan says anything

Porzingis was expected to be back at some point in December. Now he’s making his season debut tonight.

Nothing will hold these Celtics down

I like Arenado but I’d have concerns. The defense is still great but his bat is not what it used to be. Saw a pretty big decrease in exit velo, hard-hit%, and barrel%.

He’d still be beneficial to the Sox but I’d rather see the money go towards something they need more like pitching.

Craig Breslow was absolutely cooking here
Red Sox announce that Bailey Horn has been claimed by Detroit on waivers and that Bryan Mata and Isaiah Campbell have been non-tendered.

Non-tendering those two, who had been DFA, means they aren't exposed to waivers. Opens the door to potentially re-sign one or both to minor league deals.

No idea why they didn’t trade him at the deadline

At the end of the day the Royals still have a strong rotation with Lugo/Ragans/Wacha and the Reds have McLain or Marte to take Jonathan India’s place. Looks like a win/win on paper
November 23, 2024 at 12:49 AM
Still feels like a slight overpay from the Royals but both teams improve one of their weak points so it’s fair
The Cincinnati Reds get their pitcher, acquiring Brady Singer from the Kansas City Royals for infielder Jonathan India and outfielder Joey Wiemer

Should I cop? 🤔

Obviously not groundbreaking moves but Nate Eaton and Seby Zavala add some solid depth to the WooSox

Chris Sale is a Cy Young Award winner 🥲

Chris Sale was at the Pats game now he was at the Celtics. He misses us as much as we miss him 💔

I count four Rule 5 eligible pitchers that hit 100 mph in 2024.

Eduarniel Nunez, RHP, Padres - 101.8 mph max

Anderson Paulino, RHP, Royals - 101.4 mph max

Yosber Sanchez, RHP, Tigers - 100.7 mph max

Andrew Moore, RHP, Reds - 100.2 mph max

It would be funny if Noah Song was taken in the rule 5 draft this year and people freaked out again

Interesting stuff from Jim Bowden here, who matches the top 10 MLB free agents with the team they fit best and predicts Roki Sasaki to the Red Sox

Big day for the Sox today. Finding out if Pivetta is going to be a part of the rotation for one more season and seeing who’s getting added and removed from the 40 man for Rule 5 draft protections

I know there’s the “rookie status” and that it’s based off many things but I just learned that Luis Gil faced Pat Valaika in his first major league start and I can’t see him as a rookie anymore

Wilyer 6th is crazy
This was the 2nd-closest AL Rookie of the Year award voting since 1980.

Luis Gil’s 2024 season:

April - 4.01 ERA, 3.82 FIP, .629 OPS

May - 0.70 ERA, 2.49 FIP, .363 OPS

June-September - 4.58 ERA, 4.94 FIP, .751 OPS

One good month can win you ROTY
