been working on my own version of the 'fail' crate for @cap.so that allows fail points to be toggled in real-time.
all declared 'fail' (panic) and 'fail_err' (Err return) points are collected by the 'inventory' crate, and a global map that our debug window can modify toggles them on and off.

Mixed emotions this morning after waking up to #2 on Product Hunt. On the one hand I'm annoyed because of obvious upvote botting (with proof), but on the other hand I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who supported Cap.so yesterday.

Yeah I get what you're saying, the email is basically just for marketing purposes at the end of the day. First email you receive, you can just unsubscribe. If you only make recordings locally/edit locally we don't emit any events or store anything on our end. Thank you for your feedback though!

managed to cut the CPU usage of cap.so recording from 110% -> 30% usage with some simple fixes:
- hardware acceleration using ffmpeg's h264_videotoolbox encoder. -50% CPU
- capturing in NV12 format directly instead of converting from RGBA. -30% CPU
next update is gonna be so much lighter!
