Named "Tree of the Week" by England's The Guardian in 2020, and Berkshire County, Massachusetts' "most photographed tree" by The Berkshire Eagle this year, the Baldwin Hill Elm (aka Elma) stands as a rare survivor of Dutch Elm Disease.

And I must say it looks absolutely gorgeous at sunset/moonrise.

The Butternut Fire burned for several weeks, mostly in late November 2024, consuming approximately 1,670 acres, primarily within East Mountain State Forest in Great Barrington and Sheffield Massachusetts. Here are a few views of the aftermath from the Appalachian Trail. #photography
