This is a very insightful take on the right-wing media ecosystem …
I don’t think it was necessarily planned in advance, but yes, these are some of the dynamics that we have been talking about. Heroes need villains to keep the show going. bsky.app/profile/kate...
Perhaps a good day to remind folks that the right wing media ecosystem functions like improv theater (and pro wrestling):

The heroes need villains to keep the drama going, the show will shift to the audiences’ jeers/cheers, and Bannon is a producer by trade.

This interview with Sarah McBride is amazing - I learned so much about her and why she is the perfect person to be the first transgender member of Congress. What an inspiration she is — *especially* to good people who aren’t trans! www.newyorker.com/podcast/the-...
Sarah McBride Wasn’t Looking for a Fight on Trans Rights
The first trans person elected to Congress discusses how to respond to a bathroom bill and transphobic attacks from her new colleagues in the House.

I think a lot of US election commentary effectively Red Waved itself--basing analysis on immediate outcome rather than a review of Trump's 1.6% margin and failure to break 50%.
Nothing at the moment is driving me quite as nuts as the folks who are earnestly preaching how Dems must reignite themselves because of their election “disaster.” On what planet? Trump edged out a candidate who had only 15 weeks to campaign and who was running against a global anti incumbent trend.

The usual suspects are out there yelling "There are 23 million government workers! Fire most of them!" No awareness that most work for local governments, and most of *them* are schoolteachers. Federal employment hasn't grown since the 1950s

Finally someone (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of course) is articulating a coherent Democratic response to the Republican obsession with bathrooms and gender. Would that Kamala had done the same… www.instagram.com/p/DCpmiIOyP6...

Not allowing trans girls and women to compete against cis females in sports might seem like a reasonable idea - but @erininthemorning.bsky.social (as usual) explains clearly, and with facts, why it is not. www.instagram.com/reel/DCiOnqW...

I am thrilled to introduce the newest class of great students in the MSJ specialization in Media Innovation & Content Strategy at Northwestern University's Medill School. They are almost halfway through their one-year degree program and are already doing impactful work.
