So, @npr.org, you want to reflect on this? https://www.npr.org/2024/08/25/g-s1-19480/harris-dnc-fact-check

I believe that subsequent events have demonstrated Harris to be almost exactly right.

h/t to Jim Wright for pointing it out.

If wolves had killed two dozen cows and threatening to kill more, ranchers would be screaming for their hides.
Oil regulators claim Oklahoma's wastewater incidents are under control.

But our reporting with @readfrontier.bsky.social shows the state is still dealing with dozens of instances of toxic waste spewing out of the ground, one of which killed about two dozen cows in Sept.

I think a thing we'll learn tonight is that people fucking hate what is going on and they will straight ticket vote against anyone involved in starving people while pillaging the country and kidnapping their neighbors. I don't think it matters at all who that person is.

I loved Brook’s authentic reaction. Also, Bryan Stevenson has more empathy in his pinky finger than all of the members of the current administration, combined.
Countless listeners have told us that this story from Bryan Stevenson made them cry and gave them hope for our country's future.

As my sister said: RFK really missed the simplest lesson of LBJ’s career, try not to get any kids killed if your name rhymes with “how many kids did you kill today”

Borrowed from my own comment on a friend’s FB post: “But I didn’t think the leopards were going to eat *my* face.” Schadenfreude has never been my favorite emotion, but if some of those who voted from Trump and, are now suffering under his governance, wake up, that will give me some satisfaction.

While this is egregious, it is emblematic of the incompetence of the people purporting to run our government like a business. If this were a business, and the American people were the board of directors, the people running this administration would be fired.

Some insights from Ezra Klein: “Trump is acting like a king because he is too weak to govern like a president. He is trying to substitute perception for reality. He is hoping that perception then becomes reality. That can only happen if we believe him.”

Look closely at the first two weeks of Donald Trump’s second term and you’ll see something very different than what he wants you to see.

RIP Jimmy Carter, a true humanitarian. I’m not a Christian, but from what I know of the teachings of Jesus, he showed us what it means to be one.
