Tips for dealing with hunger once snap is gone:
1. A bite of something sugary eases hunger pains & brain fog.
2. Daydreaming really hard about eating can sometimes trick your brain into easing the hunger pangs.
3. You will hit a point where adrenaline takes over. It doesn't hurt as bad then.

It's times like these that I wish I had the charisma and consistency to become a beloved content creator so that people would feel invested in me & my family not starving when Trump cuts off SNAP in two weeks, but alas, I'm boring as hell and my mental health sucks so I can't be quirky & charming

This week I gotta bake a birthday cake, prep for a family vacation, make an orthopedic appointment, and possibly reschedule everything else to accommodate the orthopedic stuff. I am slightly overwhelmed

I didn't get any pics but today the weather was finally not too rainy or too hot for me to be outside, so I spent all afternoon weeding my front flowerbeds. It's only half done but it's looking really good

We helped with turtle conservation and did some classic camp stuff too. 10/10 stars, highly recommend

Join us today by donating to the Sameer Project, a Palestinian-run mutual aid org that continues its work in spite of a sadistic, months long forced starvation campaign by the zionist entity that has by and large been accepted by the world. Or just donate today, the 77th anniversary of ongoing Nakba

Tax return time has bestowed upon me many blessings
1. A giant plush duck
2. Gay Art (by @leeminarium.bsky.social )
3. A BJD I've wanted for almost a decade
4. Not pictured: A froggy nightlight (it reduces stress ok)

Also a lot of really helpful practical stuff but that's boring

I finally got one of my begonia cuttings into the begonia pot. Long may it live. Also got some maranta cuttings potted in this super cool planter I found on eBay. Life's been hectic, but plants are soothing 💜

RIP to my favorite houseplant that dies of root rot today 😭
I have cuttings so not all is lost but I'm still sad; it brightened the last few winters so much with it's gorgeous flowers

I repotted my houseplants recently so now I'm going to do a picdump

My family depends on these programs for survival. If we lose access, I can only hope we've managed to forge strong enough connections with enough people to continue to survive. And we lost our support system in 2020 & I was in hardcore burnout till 2023, so I haven't had much time for connecting. 🙃
House Republicans just voted to gut Medicaid, which covers 1 in 5 Americans overall, including 41% of births and 63% of nursing home care.

They also just voted to gut SNAP, on which 41 million food insecure Americans rely.

This won’t just harm people. This will kill people.

They own this.

I am like 85% functional. Heres doodles I did for tattoo ideas based on the Mary Oliver poem "Wild Geese"

The landscape one would make a better painting than a tattoo & the bottom half is sloppy; I dont love that. The rounder one I'm very pleased with considering I only spent like 90 seconds on it

Above all, everyone is getting a taste of what happens when you refuse to have hard conversations early on and cling to comfort and what MLK called “a negative peace.”

White liberals were told to send their MAGA relatives into exile over eight years ago; they refused. Said it was uncomfortable.
