You can’t just hire a business coach to build a successful Renfaire business. You need someone who knows design, history, building codes, and show politics.

“Fun” businesses like the Renfaire require twice the strategy. Your job is to have twice as much fun as the guests - and you have to have EVERYTHING in place to let that happen while actually making commerce.

It’s easy to forget that Renfaire design balances dreams with building codes. We’re creating fantasy worlds that must pass inspections and safely handle real crowds. Making magic work in the real world requires careful planning and engineering.

Anyone who thinks Renfaires are dying clearly aren't paying attention. While other fairs are declining in size, guests are still buzzing about the Renfaire 6 months before the next show.

It's when vendors, performers, or your team are unhappy. Their frustration shows in their booths and performances. Guests notice tired shows, grumpy booths, and a lack of energy more than your media strategy.

A hard pill to swallow for the Renfaire Pros: just because something is a fan favorite doesn't mean it's right for your festival. A seductive overly flirtatious beer booth is going to land differently in Michigan than it does in California.
