Trump's task force to fight "Anti-Christian Bias" will promote Christian privilege and allow conservative Christians to discriminate on the grounds of "religious freedom." We have to learn the history of Christian nationalism in this country to understand the danger of it now.

A very common narrative going around in conservative circles is "We are not a democracy, we are a constitutional republic." This is the type of logic that will be used to justify limiting access to democracy. If you teach, please don't just assume students believe we are a democracy. Explain it!

This is one of my favorite publications. Walter Plywaski, a holocaust survivor who fought for the U.S. Airforce, was denied citizenship because, as an atheist, he refused to say the phrase "so help me God" in his oath to citizenship. He fought back and won.
