The neighborhood fought back. We washed cars and walked dogs; held bake sales, chili cook-offs, 50-50 raffles, & bingo nights; and when we still came up short, we danced. Danced until we saved the store.

It’s extremely comforting to know that the same video store your parents and grandparents visited will still be there to rent movies to your children and grandchildren. At Rewind Video we are committed to protecting those tapes and discs, to keep them safe for future generations.

We happen to think that Letterboxd is generally a good system to gauge a movie’s quality, but also, the platform’s users seem to have a strange bias against Gerard Butler movies.

The random number generator that we use to pick letters for our The Alphabet series of episodes has chosen the letter “I” for us this time, which we didn’t (and don’t) have strong feelings about as a letter. It’s certainly no “R” or “V” — you get the idea.

Frankly, we’d rather not know. Forget we asked. The customer-clerk relationship should stay at least somewhat professional. Maybe you like the movies that we recommend to you, but also maybe you really like the movies we recommend, in which case, keep that to yourselves as well.

Or we could spend the entire week that the store is closed hunkered down in our homes watching movies in the dark. We’re not going to let some big-shot doctors and nurses tell us what to do on our vacation.

We not only hand out recommendations, we receive them as well, and the recommendations from the medical professionals in our midst is that we should, at least occasionally, not work so hard and maybe get outside in the sunshine, ride a bike, or just have some general fun.
