There’s a certain arrogance in the phrase, “Seek God.” It’s said as if we’ve somehow lost our way. For many of us, that command isn’t an invitation. It's a reminder of the control Christianity once had over our lives, our worth, and even our ability to think freely.

There’s a certain arrogance in the phrase, “Seek God.” It’s said as if we’ve somehow lost our way. For many of us, that command isn’t an invitation. It's a reminder of the control Christianity once had over our lives, our worth, and even our ability to think freely.
This is why so many who deconstructed feel relief when they hear it now. Distance brings clarity. You can see how often “God’s will” has been used to demand compliance. You are no longer beholden to a theology that confuses power with righteousness.
