This parish is in the bottom 1% of the deprivation index. Over 30% of adults have no qualifications.

Tonight at Lent group we wrote cinquains and had a lively discussion about apophatic and kataphatic approaches to prayer.

Never make assumptions about what people are capable of and interested in.

Such a joy to see some of our wonderful 2024 leavers again!
Great to see some of our 2024 Leavers, back to attend the Cambridge Theological Federation’s 2025 Award Ceremony on Monday which celebrated the achievements of students across CTF Houses who completed their Common Awards course or DTM last year. Congratulations! 📷 Thanks to Daniel, Tammy & Christina

We are hugely blessed in the wonderful people and organisations who contribute to our 'Ministry for Life' programme for ordinands.
1/2 Lis Silver (CEO) and Chris Dade (Support Services Manager) from It Takes a City (Cambridge) recently came to Westcott House to talk to first years about Homelessness as they continue to explore Key Pastoral Issues in ‘Ministry for Life’.

This is always a really valuable part of our programme - thank you @canontim.bsky.social!
1/2 Forming part of our ‘Ministry for Life’ series on Key Pastoral Issues, it was good to have the company and wisdom of Revd Canon Timothy Goode, Canon for Congregational Discipleship and Nurture at York Minster, with us today to speak to our first years on disability theology.

I guess this is what we mean we when we say we're sacramental and inclusive 😊

This was so much fun!
1/2 As we prepare to lead this week’s Ash Wednesday service for Federation Worship, our Principal gave some of our ordinands a lesson yesterday in making ash.

Sitting with a prayer for a season brings all sorts of gifts. As a place shaped by a common life, where we strive for inclusivity, this prayer by Canon Sarah Jones has been a blessing on us in the last few weeks.
As Feb draws near to a close, this LGBT+ History Month we've been giving thanks as a College for our diverse, beautiful & inclusive community (present, past & future) we've been so richly blessed with. In many of our services in chapel this month, we've dwelt with this prayer by Canon Sarah Jones.

Today in chapel the Westcott community held a vigil for Ukraine and Russia to mark the Third Anniversary of Russian Invasion of Ukraine, praying for all who strive for peace and who fight for justice, remembering the cost of war and asking God to help us work for a better tomorrow.

I should have guessed this would be Sarah's answer!
Today in chapel during the homily, we were asked what our favourite way to procrastinate is... Mine is training biceps 💪
