There is something really special about holding in your hand for the first time a book to which you've contributed.
This one even smells great.

Today was my day off so I worked on a huge painting I'm doing of a large group of women, managing to complete the detail on about 45 of the 60 faces (all different ages, skin colours etc). It feels self indulgent to do this but we all need to defrag our minds sometimes & painting is how I do that.

I think I've realised that my problem with preaching is that I manage to both overthink and underthink at the same time....
(Currently experiencing this in relation to the parable of the Tenants in the Vineyard)

Just had the first duck feeding walk of the new academic year, with several postgrads & one of their children. PhD and Masters' students can still take a break and do something relaxing and fun - and learn that you really can hand-feed peas to a swan.

Shoutout to the woman responsible for getting people into the right rail replacement bus at Cambridge Station, who was so warm and friendly and happy that now I feel happy too. Thank you, whoever you are, I wish you were coming with us all the way to Audley End.
