Moving out of a 3rd floor walkup apartment when you're ::cough cough:: in your upper fifties--0/10, do not recommend.

I am begging networks to hire regular church staff (administrators, solo parish clergy, church organists) to do the commentary on big televised Christian functions. Because we'd be more accurate, realistic, and funnier.⚓

The copier has been fixed, the Easter baskets are being distributed to local school families (known to the school counselor) but now we're in jeopardy of serious severe weather. (An OU Radar truck is somewhere in eastern Nebraska, if that gives you any idea)🤦‍♀️

Tell me it's Holy Week without telling me. . .

I successfully fed sticker paper through the bypass feed without gumming up the copier and no supervisor from our parish admin, please clap.⚓

Next time we name a cat, it might have to be Piper, so we can say "Piper, NOOOOOOO." #whitelotus

So far my contribution to Laetare Sunday is that I overslept. I'm so grateful our early service at St. M's is at 9. ⚓

It’s as if Mother Nature didn’t spend the day trying to knock out power lines across most of the state. . .

for the church and same
Just for once, just for once in my life, I would like to see a panel or symposium or essay cluster on "the future of the university" (or its infinite variations) feature mostly scholars who have done a lot of teaching and admin and advising, and who have done it at schools that aren't super rich.

Me, after 15 years in Oklahoma: I hope Nebraska weather won't be boring.
Nebraska: How about fires and floods on the same day?

(Seems like a great day to shred the understaffed NWS. ::eyeroll::)

It does not help with ::waves hands:: all this that Constant Contact and I are at loggerheads this morning.

Also today we received a note from someone we'd never heard of in a different state. Our staff expressed concern about hate mail in this political climate. Me: "Hate mail usually doesn't turn up on Hallmark stationary."

The world is on fire but the glamorous life of parish priesthood continues to include conversations about personal property limits (insurance) and online searches for out of date thermostat manuals.

So yesterday I did a Godly Play type children’s moment blessing the kids while lighting a candle for each one of them. It was a kind of holy quiet and special time, and then I had them come to the font and put the candles there. It was beautiful with the candles winking there on the font.

Absolutely understand why the end times looked super attractive to the early church.

This two clergy household, over the next nine days, has three annual meetings and a big funeral on the calendar.

I propose that just like the French take August off, the Upper Midwest should be able to hibernate through January.
