The secret service is nothing if not pragmatic. They know perfect security is a myth, especially after US capital briefly lost control of the youth information environment. I imagine losing a guy isn't a reprimand if you followed procedure, and guess who's getting more money next year.

Fed targets this thing they made up called NAIRU, which is basically an excuse to immiserate the workforce. About 4% unemployed, struggling to pay their rent (if able), forget the doctor, fun, kids, anything really other than work and bills. Also 4% unemployed is a lie.
American rentier capitalism is worse than feudalism. We have a hereditary aristocracy whom we must ultimately please in some way, or they'll cast us to the ditches and the shunned places. Some% guaranteed. You not only have a master, you have two of the fuckers, and you have to interview to get them

Center mass basically by definition is going to be the slowest moving part of a person, as well. Seems like Trump whipped his head as he is wont to do and dodged a literal bullet.
In the basic training at least. Really you should be visualizing through the actual tissue you want to rupture into something critical. In this case, candidates reportedly wear thin armor at these appearances - mitigating factor - but the man did have a rifle, and seems a side shot, through shoulder
