An irreverent glance at the film and TV of yesterday. Does the entertainment of our youth still hold up today, or have we changed too much? Two friends, laugh, argue, criticize and occasionally remember that they're doing a movie podcast.
In episode 155 we’re swooping down on the TV series, Lois and Clark (1993-1997), along the way Paul finally works on a joke, Colin flunks Superman school, and we both deal with the difficulties of being a Superhero.

Viewing my physical media collection in alphabetical order. Bonnie and Clyde (1967).

With a strong French New Wave style, this violent gangster movie won over most critics, but some liked, Bosley Crowther deeply disliked it, although he soon changed his mind.

“We rob banks”.

Viewing my physical media collection in alphabetical order. The Body of My Enemy (1976).

Jean-Paul Belmondo stars as François Leclercq, a man battling to prove his innocence in Henri Verneuil’s thriller. Belmondo is his usual suave self and again performs his own stunts.

Viewing my physical media collection in alphabetical order (sort of). The Blues Brothers. (1980).
Who would have thought that a sketch on Saturday Night Live would lead to a film making a record for the most cars destroyed at a single time.”

Viewing my physical media collection in alphabetical order. Blue Thunder (1983). With astonishing aerial footage (that today would have to be CGI), this Roy Schneider thriller is truly a fun ride.

This time we’re spending a penny with one of our favorite franchises, and it’s Carry on at Your Convenience from 1971. Will we want to sit for a while, or just flush it away?

Viewing my physical media collection. The Blue Lamp (1950). The basis of this film was turned into a series which ran for 26 years. Considered to be an example of the British genre of “Social-Realism”.

Viewing my physical media collection in alphabetical order. Blow Out (1981). Based on Michaelangelo Antonioni’s, Blow Up (1966), Brian De Palma’s Hitchcock / Giallo mash up is one of my favorite of his films. “I don't watch news. It's too depressing”.

In episode 149 we’re whipping out our swords and fencing with a defrosted Victorian hero in, Adam Adamant Lives! (1966-67).

Paul gets sartorial with his love of capes, Colin gets down with some breakfast noshing and we both get illuminated by 80s Blackpool.

Viewing my physical media collection in alphabetical order. The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi (2003).

Probably should be under “Z”, but this is its US title. Takeshi Kitano writes, co-edits, directs and stars in this return to the Zatoichi series. A worthy successor even with its surprising ending.
