Dragon Magazine was first published in 1976 and had 430 monthly issues until it was cancelled in 2013. The cover art showcased some of the best fantasy artwork in the industry. Our favourite was from October 1987 with this icon painting by Daniel Horne. #dungeonsanddragons #80snostalgia #dnd

In the early 1980s, TSR Hobbies published full-page ads for Dungeons & Dragons in comic books featuring the adventures of Saren the cleric, Indel the rogue, Valerius the warrior and Grimslade the mage. This example was illustrated by Bill Willingham who went on to work for Marvel and DC. #dnd #comics
