My Pentecost sermon ... now edited to correct several typos and to conform more to the homily as preached. (I won't guarantee that all the typos are gone, but there are fewer now.)

This is an inexcusable exercise in victim blaming. Nothing about this meeting was Zelensky's fault; it was not he who "pivoted." This was an American debacle, not a Ukrainian one, the fault of Lord Dampnut & his lapdog veep, no one else's.

Gift article. No pay wall.

Zelensky, Seeking a Diplomatic Victory With Trump, Leaves With a Debacle (Gift Article)
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine had hoped to secure U.S. support in any cease-fire talks with Russia. Instead, his curdled relationship with President Trump was revealed in the Oval Office.

This would be the best possible outcome.
Donald Trump and JD Vance may have just done what Joe Biden couldn’t - get Ukraine into NATO.

Liturgy which is inspiring and engaging empowers the worshiper to continue in spiritual practices and discipleship, and commissions the worshiper into a life of community, care, and service to others.

Apologies to President Zelenskyy and, indeed, to the rest of the world. I didn't vote for Lord Dampnut but, as an American, I'm very, very sorry ... embarrassed and apologetic on behalf of my nation.
That asshole in the White House will NEVER speak for me.

Smash that 💙 if you stand with President Zelensky.

The way in which Lord Dampnut and JD treated Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office is HORRIFICALLY SHAMEFUL ... horribly embarrassing. America should hang its head in shame!

Yeah.... what did you think would happen?
You voted for a corrupt sexual predator who assaulted multiple women and even admitted it on tape. What did you think would happen?

How did a highball which is basically whiskey mixed with diluted ginger ale, garnished with some citrus, come to be called a "Presbyterian"? Do any of my Presbyterian colleagues know about this?

Presbyterian Recipe
As with all short ingredient lists, quality matters Make sure to look for a drier ginger ale with a bite to it and reach for a whiskey you like to drink Bourbon will result in a sweeter-leaning drink,...

BLACKOUT DAY

Anybody got any idea when the effect of today's economic non-activity will be measurable and reported?

As with all social media.... I find myself hours later wishing there were a way (or, if there is, that I knew about the way) to edit a post. As we all know, the best way to find errors in something is to publish it.

Karoline Leavitt, WH press secretary: “Anyone who thinks protests, lawsuits, and lawfare will deter President Trump must have been sleeping under a rock for the past several years." This is terrifying! He will not be deterred. Deterrance isn't enough; he must be defeated!

The organization RFK Jr formerly led is actively putting information out stating that the measles vaccine is to blame for this outbreak, not declining vaccination rates.

It’s a lie.

The measles vaccine is both incredibly effective and very safe.

His rhetoric is responsible for these realities.

Over the past several years, I have written and delivered quite a few sermons, and authored a number of blog posts, which directly or indirectly address political themes from a Christian (Anglican) point of view, as I understand it.
