It is absolutely atrocious what has occurred at Westminster Mall. Real urban explorers, historians, archivists, etc would never do what has transpired here. You are not edgy, you are not cool. Stop ruining it for the rest of us.

Saks Global, itself spun off from bankrupt Hudson's Bay and Co, is languishing and heading for the same fate. Restructuring proceedings are iminent. Too soon to tell if outright liquidation is in the cards.

Macy's in the mirror.

This store, at Buffalo's Boulevard Mall opened in 1962 as Sattler's. In 1983, it changed over to Sibley's, followed by a stint as Kaufmann's, becoming Macy's in 2006. It is a casualty of the latest round of closures.

Tree of the year.

This is 2024's Christmas tree, still standing a year later at Fairlane Town Center. Current owners Kohan Retail Investment Group did not pay the vendor for its removal at the end of the Chsitmas season, so here it sits.

Wonderful news today, confirming that the famous Home Alone house is being restored to its former glory.

A listing of the house from last year showed the interior stripped of its warm, inviting 1990 interior replaced by bland modernist touches.

In other sad news out of Syracuse, NY, one of two Arby's hat signs has unceremoniously disappeared. This one along with Mattydale, were smaller versions of the classic 10 gallon hat signs of the era.

It was discovered that Regal Cinemas has opted to do a top to bottom remodel of their location in Oviedo Mall in suburban Orlando, FL. This gorgeous neon, lost forever. Here are photos from 2018.

Sad news this morning out of Lakeforest in Gaitherburg, Maryland. With internal demolition underway, a recent infiltration found at least two of the mall's public art installations destroyed among piles of scrap now filling the mall's concourses.
