Though Guiding methods vary from one Guide to another, Penelope approaches similar steps every time. She always commits what she does to memory as she processes any Esper who comes to her. Penelope never thinks of the Espers as ‘patients’, more like ‘objective’ she needs to ‘clear’ with a few ‘checkpoints’ for her to sort out her thoughts and maintain her own efficiency. Now, as she waits for her assignment, she closes her eyes. Penelope thinks of the possible scenario of Guiding she’ll face, and a better way to resolve it without agitating the Esper’s condition. Her sitting position stays relaxed, poised in meditation-like posture over a chair. “Coming through!” Penelope turns to the entrance of the makeshift Guiding chamber she’s in. Her regular routine in one of Netzach outposts has never been so calm, though she tries to maintain as calm a disposition as she can. The distant noises of footsteps coming closer, Penelope counts about two or three new people incoming. She comes out of the chamber to assist the Guide who mans the emergency area with profiling and. She notices a familiar red-haired Esper being supported by two other Espers who are not in a good shape either. They’re barely standing with their wounds on their stomachs. But the Esper they’re bringing, despite not having any visible injuries, is hardly conscious. Penelope deduces, with those unfocused purple eyes and shortness of breath, the redhead Esper overuses her echolocation power again. Penelope quickly gestures for them to let her handle the Esper while they have to go back to the sterilization area. “She’s nearly in the Zone,” the helper Guide says as they tap the Esper’s ID tag to Penelope’s tablet. Penelope skims through the information about the situation. She knows the Esper in her arms. She also can guess what the redhead Esper’s affliction is, though nothing hurts to double check the data just in case. Reina Tonerre, A-class Defensive Esper, provisions mission in Netzach. Indirect contact with C-rank Sentinel while searching for information. Prolonged contact happens as pinpointing the exact Sentinel location needed. Senses affected: hearing, sight. A rapid line of negative thought makes her stomach churns. For a moment, Penelope thinks of scolding Reina, but it won’t help with anything. She can only manage to do what she can to keep the Esper away from the danger of lapsing, and hope for the best. Penelope adjusts Reina’s position on her shoulder with the help of the other Guide, ensuring to walk steadily to reach the emergency Guiding chamber. “G-Give me f-fifteen t-to twenty m-minutes b-before t-the next one.” “Will you be okay?” “I-I can m-manage.” The helper Guide gives Penelope a furtive nod as they return back to their post and closes the chamber door. The wall around Penelope begins to light up to monitor Reina's condition. Green bar shows her vital count. The hue circle on the top right corner still veers between yellow and red. Penelope watches that nothing changes with Reina’s vitals, and her situation isn’t disturbed en route to the Guiding chamber. With Reina unresponsive, despite her eyes still open, Penelope has her sit on Penelope’s lap. It is easier like this for Penelope to watch every change in Reina as she begins Guiding, while also taking notes of the monitor on the wall. Firstly, Penelope will make sure that any disturbances around the Esper are eliminated. The easiest way for her to do it is to call her spirit animal, Tama, to do most of the ‘sense blocking’. “Shh, it-it’s alright, ther-there will be n-no m, more loud v-voices,” Penelope whispers. Loud enough for Reina to hear, yet like a silent ripple in the air. “It-it will b-be j-just me.” Tama materializes near their feet. Threads of light reach out to the unstable Esper, a wisp caressing Reina’s ears and eyes. Penelope watches as Reina no longer tries to hold her breath at times, her rate of breathing steadying as the pulse reading on the wall also slows down. Reina’s shoulders slump this time as Tama proceeds to block more of her senses, a sign of slight improvement. At times like this, she’s grateful for having to be a Mentalist, as she can conjure her spirit animal easier. Though, Penelope is not out of the woods yet, as Reina’s hue still stays on the same yellow-red. Penelope runs her hand through Reina’s collar, loosening her tie slightly but not removing it. Fingers thread to the line of Reina’s shit buttons, stopping when she feels Reina shift on her lap. She glances for a change in the Esper’s expression, to find that Reina bit down her lower lip, with her eyes still showing a sign of fear. Like she keeps her voice down because she doesn’t want to be found out to a phantom ‘enemy’. Penelope thinks of distraction. Her right hand begins to roam again with purpose. Her left arm stays pressing around Reina’s waist as the other caresses Reina through her shirt. “L-Let out y-your vo-voice, i-it will be a-alright,” Penelope tries again, a bit closer to Reina’s ear this time. She thumbs through Reina’s breast, sensing the particular jump to Reina’s skin with their proximity. “Y-You’re safe with m-me.” —ahh-” “G-Good.” Penelope says in relief. She maintains the pressure on Reina’s chest, only massaging harder when Reina finally lets out her voice more. A small, shy squeak. “K-Keep going.” Penelope presses her lips on the back of Reina’s ear, then slips her hand inside Reina’s shirt, stroking the exposed skin between the waistband of her skirt and the hem of her shirt. The motion unhurried, trying to gauge more of Reina’s response and loosening her up. Penelope paws back over Reina’s shirt, with her left hand this time that tugs lower. She finds Reina’s thigh, stroking the inside, while also keeping her lips light on Reina’s nape. She reaches for the satchel on her waist, pulling out a sachet of lubricant and rubber. Here comes Penelope’s next step: to do everything as fast as possible before anything can worsen the Esper’s condition drastically. Though, if Reina manages to come without Penelope needing to finger her, the rubber will be obsolete. Then again, better to be prepared than sorry. Penelope tears the packet with her mouth, slipping the rubber to her two fingers, then coats it with lubricant. There is a yelp from Reina as Penelope shifts slightly, having Reina to spread open her legs for Penelope to gain better access.
