3 yrs ago Maddie wrote me a letter about the issues she cared about. Today, I joined Troop 1163 at her Court of Honor as she became the first female Eagle Scout in Farmington & West Hartford
She turned concern into action and I am inspired by her leadership- She represents the best of our future! 🇺🇸

It was a pleasure to join the 2025 Town of Plymouth Inauguration Day Ceremony. The people of this community have entrusted these leaders with the next chapter in Plymouth. Congratulations Mayor Sekorski and all who were elected.

Amazing morning at the “Black Men in White Coats” Youth Summit. Encouraged by the hundreds of young people who are the next generation of healthcare professionals.

These kids have so much talent, it’s opportunity that feels elusive. I will continue to work at changing that.

CT SNAP recipients should check their accounts as benefits are being loaded onto cards.

As 42 million Americans who rely on SNAP go another day without November benefits, I am leading the introduction of the Keep SNAP & WIC Funded Act of 2025 to stop the Trump Administration from illegally withholding available funds.

I am disgusted by what is being done to SNAP recipients across the country. Alongside @repbonamici.bsky.social, I am leading House Democrats in calling on the Trump Administration to immediately release SNAP funds.

The cruelty is the point.
After stalling for weeks, Pres. Trump is signaling that he will defy court orders, while USDA Sec. Rollins claims releasing SNAP is a “cumbersome process” that could result in long delays. The courts have ruled on this issue & the President is still refusing to feed people.
November 4, 2025 at 5:47 PM
I have repeatedly called for the Trump Admin. to release emergency funds to cover SNAP this month. Relieved to hear USDA has agreed to adhere to federal court rulings. This is welcome news to the 42M recipients facing the uncertainty of how they will put food on the table.

City of Waterbury held the grand reopening of the Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Excited that we continue to address much needed improvements through a strong federal & state partnership. I hope the community enjoys this park as much as I did growing up

Mike Johnson has incorrectly claimed the President wants to feed people but legally he couldn’t.
Now 2 judges have ruled USDA can legally use emergency funds.

I can’t understand why this administration continues to fight the release of SNAP funds.

Feeding people is a policy choice.
The Trump Administration already has the authority, the legal means and the money to fund SNAP in November.

The refusal to stabilize SNAP is a policy choice. I joined @lauracoates.com to discuss how the Trump Administration & USDA have the full authority and contingency funds necessary to ensure there is no lapse in SNAP benefits in November.

I joined CT AG William Tong to announce a lawsuit filed by 25 states & DC over the Trump administration‘s refusal to release almost $6B in emergency funds so families won’t see SNAP benefits interrupted starting Nov. 1st. I am grateful to live in a state that fights for our residents at every level.
